Another excellent retreat on the Pacific coastline in Mexico is Viceroy Zihuatenejo. This is a place of breathtaking natural beauty mixed with high-end man-made amenities, all in a perfect ambiance of relaxation and peace. The tropical landscape is picture perfect and it makes any day a wonderful day – just one glance out the window and tranquility instantly caresses your soul.

In this private paradise, nature co-exists and flourishes together with its inhabitants. The buildings were designed to adapt to the surroundings instead of tailoring nature to fit them. Trees have been saved and flowers were allowed to bloom and make the place more enjoyable every day.
All spaces are airy and cozy, with contemporary decors that boast a pleasant rustic touch. They are filled with natural light and make for excellent sleeping and idling spots. In all there are 70 accommodation options to choose from, half of which are suites, the other half being rooms. They are lavishly equipped with modern amenities, including iPod docking stations, flat TVs, plush beddings and so on.
While at Viceroy Zihuatenejo, you will not have time to get bored. If you like to stay active even while vacationing, your fun options are various. Choose between scuba diving in the fascinating coral reef, swimming with the playful dolphins, playing golf, or going bird watching. However, if you want to enjoy the full Viceroy experience, you need to also spend at least a few hours at the local spa – it is a must!

Luxury British interior designer, Helen Green Design, has designed and and refurbished Plantation Suites at Coral Reef Club
Following a successful launch of one of the five suites in 2003, the guys at Helen Green Design (also responsible for the design of the coveted Coral Reef Club Spa), were appointed to restore the remaining suites to their former Caribbean splendour at the luxury Caribbean hotel.
Each suite has a private and spacious bedroom and living area, wrap-around terrace with private sundeck and pool offering breathtaking views of the shimmering West Coast ocean and tropical gardens below.
An important factor for hotel co-owner, Karen Capaldi, was that the new-look suites maintained an authentic Caribbean living environment.
The newly renovated suites at the luxury Caribbean hotel embrace fresh and light with bold swathes of colours such as; duck egg blue, neutrals and rich greens on a base of gold and mid to dark browns. The main living areas embrace a Bajan theme. Sconces and rounded window detail and accents are made from locally sourced Coral Rock whilst much of the woodwork is in pale pine. The bedrooms boast feature beds; a sleeker and more elegant version of the traditional mahogany four poster. Furnishings are an eclectic mix of contemporary designs and elegant antiques. Leading off from the sleeping areas are separate dressing rooms, which are fitted with floor-to-ceiling lattice work wardrobes. The bespoke designed bathrooms are complete with rain showers, roll top baths, raised sinks and granite and marble counter tops. Statement ‘his and hers’ mirrors are positioned either side of the baths to enhance natural light.
